A digital designer, coffee drinker, and amateur chess player
I'm a husband, a tech geek, a casual chess player, occasional pet sitter and Product Designer. Interested in sci-fi, gravel bikes, Radiohead, and Arch Linux.
Currently working at the Royal Botanic Gardens (Kew). I'm a Product Designer in the Digital team, where we build experiences to encourage engagement with Kew's mission, facilitate the exploration of our science, horticulture, and collections, promote visits to our gardens, and drive support for the institution via tickets, donations, and shop purchases.
I believe in building digital products that prioritise speed - fast to build, validate, and scale to customers. Products should be cheap to start, avoiding recurring costs until sustainable. Software tools that work well together to reduce complexity and boosts results. Modern, actively maintained tools with long-term support prevent technical debt.
I am motivated by solving real problems, improving my skills, and helping others grow as designers. I'm also a continuous learner, enjoy coding using Cursor and believe that new AI tools are paving the way for a new generation of Designer Engineers.
