Project Description
Spears500.com is a directory that connects clients with financial advisers and service providers. The platform allows users to search and filter advisers by location, area of expertise, and client type. It provides visibility for advisers and generates leads for Spear's magazine. Since launch, the directory has grown by 36% and attracts over 10,000 visits each month.
The project consists of ranked indices of advisers and companies that work with ultra-high-net-worth individuals and family offices. The directory exists both as a printed annual publication and as the online platform.
The directory covers multiple sectors including wealth management, family office services, tax advisory, property agents, family lawyers, debt advisory, art advisers, interior designers, reputation managers, contentious trust lawyers, cosmetic surgeons, dermatologists, landscape designers, aviation and yacht advisers, personal trainers, and nannies.

Brand Foundations

The directory inherited the same typefaces and colour palette from the main publication, which is Spears magazine. I then extended the colour system by adding tints and shades to create more flexibility.

This gave options to build interface components whilst maintaining consistency with the parent brand. The expanded system allowed us to define clear hierarchies and states across the directory without deviating from Spear's established identity.

Results

The Spears 500 website attracts approximately 6.5K monthly visits, with visitors spending an average of 1 minute and 38 seconds per visit. The marketing team has successfully introduced new revenue streams through sponsored tags such as Top 10 Recommended, Featured, Top Ten, and Top Flight for profiles and companies.

Since the launch of the new website, the private client directory has increased by 36%, whilst the annual print report continues to be published with over 2,300 profiles across 600 pages.

In 2024, the Spears 500 project became the foundation for the main Spears Magazine website, with the magazine adopting the same grid layout, fonts, forms, and other design components.
